The Masseria della Zingara is a stunning and impressive example of a traditional Pugliese farmhouse, constructed in local limestone by wealthy landowners at the beginning of the 18th century.

Lovingly and respectfully restored by its British owners, wonderful original features abound, such as the fabulous vaulted communal rooms on the ground floor, whilst all rooms have been decorated, furnished and equipped to offer our guests every modern comfort in simple and elegant style.

How to find the Masseria

The Masseria della Zingara, whilst secluded and private, is extremely well located.

5 minutes

A short drive or cycle ride into the local village of Triggianello boasting a range of shops and small restaurants or head into the larger town of Castellana Grotte.

30 minutes

Within a 30 minute radius are a whole series of beautiful medieval towns including those of the Valle d’Itrea – all of which boast their unique festivals and carnivals. Look out for Monopoli, Polignano a Mare and Fasano on the coast with Ostuni, Cisternino, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Putignano.

45 minutes

A 45 minute drive takes you to either Bari or Brindisi airports.

60 minutes

It takes just 60 minutes to cross the promontory which is Puglia to reach Gallipoli or Taranto on the Mediterranean coast or head to the Baroque city of Lecce in the south or north towards the Gargano Peninsula. Alternatively, head to the extraordinary UNESCO site of Matera.

Rentals are Saturday (check in 4pm) to Saturday  (checkout 10.30) but flexibility may be possible on request.
Option A:
Main House (sleeps 12-13)

Option B:
Main House and Annexe studio apartment
OR Casetta (sleeps max 15)

Option C:
Main House and both Annexe studio apartment AND Casetta (max occupancy sleeps 19)

Option D:
All accommodation plus poolside trulli.

A security deposit of £500 is to be paid for each booking and we will also insist on a completed booking form coming with the order.

Note: Heating is included up to a level of 50 units per week. Usage beyond that level is charged at cost currently being €4.5 per unit

It is essential that anyone booking the Masseria must have appropriate holiday insurance and details must be provided on the booking form. The booking form asks for one person to be nominated as party leader and with whom the booking will be made.

  • It is essential that anyone booking the Masseria must have appropriate holiday insurance and details must be provided on the booking form.
  • The booking form asks for one person to be nominated as party leader and with whom the booking will be made. We also ask that other members of the party are specified. Changes to the make up of the party must be notified but, in the case of a change of party leader, new insurance documentation must also be provided.
  • It should be noted that the Masseria was built in the 17th century and before safety regulations came into force. Clients should be aware that care must be taken in supervising children (in particular) since the owners cannot take responsibility for any accidents which might occur on the premises or in the grounds.
  • We cannot take responsibility for travel arrangements or travel arrangements that go wrong. Neither can we be responsible should there be no availability to travel on the appropriate day. However, in such circumstances, it is generally possible for us to arrange accommodation at extra cost in a different location either prior to or following the booking period.
  • Confirmation invoice will be issued on receipt of booking form, 25% deposit and proof of insurance. The full balance of payment must be paid by the due date ie 8 weeks prior to date of departure. Itineraries and all necessary details of the property will be sent to the client on full payment.

 

  • We reserve the right to cancel the booking if the balance of the holiday price remains unpaid by the due date.
  • Cancellation by the client
    All cancellations by the client must be in writing from the person who signed the booking form, either by fax or recorded delivery. If cancellation is received 43 days or more before the first day of the booking, only the deposit will be retained. Cancellations received less than 43 days in advance will involve the following cancellation charge to be paid by the Client.
    Between 42 – 28 days before the first day of the booking 60%
    Between 27 – 15 days before the first day of the booking 80%
    Between 14 and the first day of the booking 100%
  • Cancellation by the owners
    We reserve the right to cancel a booking at any time due to Force Majeure. In such circumstances, our responsibility would be limited to either offering alternative accommodation or refunding any money paid. We would also cancel a booking if the payment terms outlined above had not been met and, in such circumstances, the cancellation fees would be levied according to the above scale.

The main kitchen, dining-room and two vast sitting-rooms are located on the ground floor, the kitchen leading out onto a large, shaded terrace with a lovely view over the gardens to the pool and trulli. A perfect place for those delicious barbecues and, for cooler times of the year, guests can enjoy a huge open log fire in one of the sitting-rooms.

Upstairs accommodation comprises an elegant 4 bedroom apartment and a stylish 2 bedroom apartment, linked at the rear by a terrace with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside (part of the masseria estate)

The 4 bedroom apartment has its own sitting room and well-appointed kitchen; 2 double and 2 twin bedded rooms, two of which have en suite bathrooms whilst the other two share a fabulous bathroom with shower and bath. The 2 bedroom apartment has a double and a twin-bedded room, both with en suite bathrooms, a small communal sitting-room with table and chairs and coffee or tea making facilities. All the bedrooms are spacious.

The Casetta and Annexe studio apartment both provide charming additional accommodation; they are self-contained, each with a small, well equipped kitchen. To the rear of the Annexe apartment is another little terrace with shaded seating beneath a century-old olive tree.

La Casetta

The Trullo Apartment is located down by the pool area.  It features a double bed as well as a settee and kitchen corner so that you can be a little independent.   It has a very nice shower and bathroom and opens out onto the pool terrace area with outdoor seating.  A wonderful opportunity to spend a night under the stars in a real authentic trullo.
